Alexis McCagh

Alexis McCagh is our Influencer/Community Manager who works alongside the customer service team. She has been with Dr. Harvey’s since 2018 and creates user generated content for various pet brands; working only with brands that follow a holistic approach to pet care. She educates and speaks with customers every day via phone and email about how to feed their companion animals so they can live longer, happier lives.

Experience

Alexis loves educating pet parents about the best foods, supplements, and treats to feed their companion animals. Obtaining a MS in psychology has allowed Alexis to connect on a personal level with pet parents. She loves building relationships with like-minded individuals to help grow and strengthen the dog community on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. She has worked with various brands including We Feed Raw and Mine Pet Platter. Alexis also shares her wealth of knowledge about animal nutrition on her personal blog, Love + Tail Wags.

In her spare time, she likes to watch football, rock-climb, bowl, and read. She is a dog mom to an adorable rescue pup named Larry.

Get to Know More About Alexis

Do you have any pets? What are their names?

I have an amazing dog named Larry! He is a 9 year old, 80 lb. rescue and I’m convinced he is more human than dog. We love going on adventures together and making content for social media. Larry is a big foodie and especially loves his Dr. Harvey’s meals and treats. He means the world to me and I am so thankful that he came into my life.

What Dr. Harvey’s foods and treats do you feed your pet and why?

Larry gets a rotation of Dr. Harvey’s Canine Health, Paradigm, and Raw Vibrance. I love the ingredients in each formula and like to provide him with variety. I include our Ortho-Flex and Relax supplements to his meals because he has joint issues and gets nervous when he has to go up or down stairs. The supplements have helped him immensely and he loves the taste! Larry loves ALL of our treats, but his favorite is our Sweet Potate’r Chews! He excitingly brings them right to his bed to eat.

What is your favorite part about working at Dr. Harvey’s?

My favorite part about working at Dr. Harvey’s is having the opportunity to educate pet parents about their companion’s diet. I have met some truly incredible people while working here over the last five years and have learned from them as well. It’s amazing to work for a company that I truly believe in! Through working at Dr. Harvey’s, I’ve also been able to immerse myself in the dog community and meet so many amazing pet parents. We learn from each other, share funny stories and pictures, and lift each other up.

Name a unique fact about yourself.

Bowling is one of my favorite things to do when I’m not hanging out with Larry. My highest score is a 245!

What books would you recommend for people wanting to learn more about keeping our pups healthy?

I highly recommend “The Forever Dog” by Dr. Karen Becker. This book has valuable information about how to improve your dog’s overall health and keep them around for as long as possible! I also recommend watching the documentary “Pet Fooled.” It discusses what dogs and cats should be eating vs. what they are getting when eating a commercial diet.
